Bridal Makeup FAQs

How do I secure my wedding date?
Your date is officially reserved once your bridal contract is signed and your initial retainer is received. A non-refundable retainer (50% of service total) is required to book.

When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance is due one week prior to your wedding date. Payment is due prior to the wedding day to avoid any delays from the event. This includes the remaining service total, any travel fee, and additional fees.

Where do bridal previews take place?
Bridal previews take place at my studio in Newcastle, Maine. The address is 19 Sheepscot Rd, Newcastle ME 04553, located directly off of Route 1. Inside the Lavish Hair Salon building.

What style of makeup do you offer?
I specialize in natural to soft glam looks—designed to enhance your natural beauty rather than mask it. Every application is customized to your skin type, features, and preferences so you look and feel like the most radiant version of yourself on your wedding day.

How should I prepare my skin for my wedding day?
Glowing makeup starts with healthy skin. I recommend a consistent skincare routine and, if possible, monthly facials leading up to your big day. Dermaplaning facials are especially helpful for creating a flawless makeup base. I offer a range of facial services at my studio in Newcastle, Maine and would love to get your skin ready for your big day!

What should I have on my skin before makeup application?
Arrive at your trial or appointment with a clean, makeup free and moisturized face. I’ll prep your skin further during your session for the perfect makeup application.

Do you offer airbrush makeup?
I do not offer airbrush makeup. I prefer traditional techniques because they allow me to tailor products to each client’s unique skin—whether dry, oily, sensitive, or combination—for a longer-lasting, more comfortable finish.

Do you have a service minimum?
For on-location wedding services, there is a minimum of 4 makeup applications (this can include 3 people + the bride). In-studio appointments do not require a minimum.

How much is the travel fee?
Travel fees are based on the distance from my residence to your getting ready location and are calculated round trip. I’ll provide an exact quote once your location is confirmed. Travel fees are added to your final balance, which is due one week prior to your wedding date.

How many people can you accommodate for makeup services?
I can accommodate up to 7 makeup applications on my own. For larger parties, I’m happy to reach out to my trusted network of makeup artists to see if an additional artist is available to join us. As I operate as a solo business, I’ll do my very best to arrange extra help, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

How much time do you allow per person on the wedding morning?
For weddings, I schedule 45 minutes per bridal party member and 1 hour for the bride. I also like to accommodate 15 minutes of touch ups at the end of getting ready.

When should I book my bridal preview?
I recommend having your bridal makeup preview scheduled for about 3 months before your wedding. This allows enough time to fine-tune your look while avoiding the busier final weeks of planning. *Please note Saturday availability for previews are very limited during peak wedding season.
